Declared value is the actual cost of your item/s. It’s important to be as accurate as possible when setting the declared value as it determines how much valuation is assigned to your shipment. In addition, BoC may impose a fine for packages where the declared value of items is incorrect.
Please note that claims are based on the declared value or the invoice value of the item, whichever is lower.
